Driven Brands Charlotte-based employees spent a Friday in June helping frame the second story of a house for Habitat of Humanity. The employees were joined by Driven’s summer interns.

“I loved being able to meet so many colleagues in person and work together for a great cause in our local community,” said Sarah Vaughan, HR. “I learned some new construction skills and enjoyed being a small part of a big project for a local family!”

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region was founded in 1983 and is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity builds houses for area families with affordable mortgage payments and below-market interest rates.

Kathryn Wooldridge, Maaco Marketing, said: “Volunteering with Charlotte's Habitat for Humanity was a fantastic experience. It was wonderful to connect employees from various brands within Driven while making a significant impact on the community. We are truly grateful to everyone from Habitat for Humanity who assisted us with the build.”

In addition to housing, Habitat for Humanity families also receive financial literacy education to prepare them for homeownership. The families also participate in the construction of their new home.

Employees from across Driven joined the cause. “I had a great time getting to both work alongside my fellow interns and coworkers across various departments,” said Drew Svonovec, summer intern. “I was also able to gain a further understanding of Habitat's mission to provide affordable housing. Overall, it was an experience I highly recommend that everyone should take part in at least once!”
